SunWize manufactures a wide range of metal enclosures specifically designed to hold the most common BCI group sizes (Group 24, Group 31, 8D, 4D, L16, etc).  Navigating all the options we provide can be daunting, which is why we provide easy to use tools that help you select the exact enclosure you need for a given battery configuration.

We've provided the below easy-to-use charts to help customers determine the right options when designing battery backup power systems. Battery backup systems are designed to continue powering critical loads for a specific length of autonomy (usually measured in hours or days) when the primary power source fails (grid, generator, TEG, etc). You can learn more here about the basics of VRLA batteries and how temperature effects them (cold temperatures can significantly reduce total amount of available energy in batteries).

Energy Storage Options for Each Enclosure

Cost-effective solutions for housing one to four batteries (up to group size 31) with supporting equipment. NEMA3R rated, white power-coated finish aluminum enclosures feature hinged, key-lockable doors with dust covers on locks and gasketed door. Passive cooling ventilation. Two rear ½” electrical knockouts. All Power Ready Express (PRE) Control Panels fit in F-Series enclosures.

NEMA3R rated, white powder-coated aluminum enclosures fit up to 2x Group 8D batteries or 6x Group 31 batteries and feature hinged, pad-lock latches. Designed for pole or pad mounting options. Locking hinge allows for service of equipment. Elevated skid feet, (3-4) rear-side ½” electrical knockouts plus (4) bottom-side ½” electrical knockouts. All Power Ready Express (PRE) Control Panels fit in M-Series enclosures.

NEMA3R rated, mill-finish aluminum enclosures feature hinged, pad-lockable doors with dust covers on locks and gasketed door. Passive cooling ventilation. Two rear ½” electrical knockouts. All Power Ready Express (PRE) Control Panels fit in C-Series enclosures.

Wide battery enclosures to accommodate 1-4 batteries with larger back panels for more support equipment. NEMA3R rated, white powder-coated or mill-finished aluminum enclosure feature hinged, key-lockable doors with dust covers. Passive cooling ventilation with bottom inlet vents and rear-louver outlet vents. The 9” deep cabinets feature: (4) bottom ½” electrical knockouts. The 16” deep cabinets feature: (2) rear ½” and (2) rear 1” electrical knockouts. Standard PRE Control Panels do not fit in WF-Series.

UPS style enclosure targeted for variety of standalone solar & battery backup system applications. Supports up to x16 Group L16 batteries. NEMA3R rated, white powder-coated aluminum enclosures feature hinged, key lockable doors with dust covers on locks and gasketed door. Passive cooling ventilation. Three 1-½” electrical knockouts per side.  ignificant space for controls allows up to (16) customer load breakers, plus multiple battery chargers and/or controllers. Power Ready Express (PRE) Control Panels do not fit in UPS style enclosure.

Ground mounted fits up to x16 Group L16 batteries or x8 Group 8D batteries. Top-opening NEMA3R rated, white powder-coated aluminum enclosures feature hinged, pad-lockable lids. Locking hinge allows for service of equipment. Elevated skid feet, (2) leftside ½” electrical knockouts. All T-Series enclosures can install onto our Power Station A-Frame structures or be ground mounted. All Power Ready Express (PRE) Control Panels fit in T-Series enclosures.
