OEM Integrated, Multiple Power Source Input Battery Backup Systems
SunWize provides industrial customers with reliable and cost effective power solutions. One of the most significant opportunities we see is the need for reliable battery backup systems for hybrid power sources, which can include fuel cells, traditional generators, thermo-electric generators (TEGs), grid power, solar, wind, and other energy input sources! In most cases, more than one power input type is used simultaneously along with a battery backup system. For example: a TEG, batteries, and diesel generators. Here’s why it works!
TEGs are popular and cheap ways to power large loads and devices from upstream production to downstream operations. However, they are not very reliable and also need to be serviced and maintained fairly regularly. In both of these cases (during outage and during maintenance intervals), a properly sized battery bank can be an economical way to keep critical electronic and monitoring loads active while the TEG is not. In unforeseen or extended down-times, having an AC-input charging source to your battery bank allows for a quick generator hookup, giving service personnel several days to seamlessly transition from TEG power, to battery power, to generator assisted battery power (only limited by fuel) until the TEG returns to service. At this point, all non-critical loads return to operation after downtime, while all critical loads have remained uninterrupted.
Recently, many operators have begun implementing fuel cell solutions as either complements or replacements for TEGs, such as in the picture shown above. These hybrid battery backup systems, however, are not limited to just oil & gas applications. Diesel generators, fuel cells, grid power, solar (see our tech-note on adding solar to UPS systems), and wind are all energy sources that can be effectively harnessed by our systems for a diverse range of applications. These systems will result in improved up-time, better reliability, and more cost savings than a single stand-alone energy source!

The PO-UPS-375-3 is a powerful, versatile, and cost effective energy storage solution that can be used in a variety of applications. Featuring both DC input and AC input capabilities and up to 16 load distribution blocks, the UPS-375-3 provides a cost effective way to keep critical infrastructure loads online. DC input allows TEGs (or ANY 24V DC energy source) to provide primary power. Base loads run directly through batteries providing uninterrupted power during primary power source failure.
Provides (3) days battery backup at a continuous 375W load at 24VDC!
During Grid/TEG/Generator/Fuel Cell downtime and maintenance, AC input battery charger allows for continuous operation of up to 1000W (battery charger rating) critical loads using a standard generator (run-time limited only by generator fuel availability). Autonomy duration provides service personnel with plenty of time to reach site with generator so downtime never occurs.

The SunWize UPS series of hybrid battery backup systems feature a variety of configurations to meet each our customers exact needs. Our wide controls space allows for us to tailor the design for different demands and applications. Our customization options are too long to list!
However, to make things simple for our customers, we provide (2) base versions of the UPS-375 system that can be ordered easily online or over the phone using our 6-digit part numbers below. Option 1 features an Analytic Systems 40A AC input charger, while Option 2 features an Iota 40A AC input charger. Other charger models like Cotek and SENS are also available. Systems feature 1,248 AH of energy storage at 24VDC (with 1,664Ah option available upon request)

PO-1100-24-574 | 574Ah Short & Stubby Options
The PO-1100-24-574 are another powerful series of hybrid battery backup systems offered by SunWize. These systems, like our line of UPS-375 designs, feature expansive AC & DC input options designed for a variety of energy input sources. These PO-1100-24-574 designs feature several key differences compared to our UPS-375 systems.
Provides 574Ah energy storage at 24VDC, or 3 days for 150W load!

The PO-1100-24-574 series systems feature a smaller battery enclosure than our UPS-375 series. While similar in footprint, our “short” and “stubby” enclosure versions provide a more compact energy storage option using group 12V group 8D batteries instead of 6V L16 style batteries. Also, these smaller enclosure version include a top-rail and additional knockouts for OEM integration of various Fuel Cell systems or other box mounting power production sources. Advanced controls, AC Input plug, and power distribution equipment is stored in our side-mounted WF2 style enclosure, shown on the below right image. Example power electronics back plate features base 24V load circuit, 12V Load circuit, AC generator Input, AC grid input, DC Fuel Cell Input, and battery hookups all panel or din-rail mounted.
