TRF Series Traffic Enclosures

The TRF8-31, TRF4-31, and TRF2-31 enclosures were engineered from the ground up to address the operational requirements and regulatory standards of the traffic control industry. Design priorities included environmental resilience and physical security, ensuring reliable performance under adverse weather conditions and protection against unauthorized access.

Each enclosure is constructed from 0.125″ (1/8”) thick aluminum and built to meet NEMA 3R specifications. The design incorporates a full-length stainless steel piano hinge, stainless steel hardware throughout, and a stainless steel three-point latch system. The latch is padlock-compatible and keyed to a standard #2 configuration to support secure field access. To mitigate corrosion and extend service life, all aluminum components are powder coated.

The largest of the TRF Series enclosures can hold up to eight Group 31 batteries. Every size has four 1/4-20 mounting studs designed to mount one of our pre-built ready-to-ship Power Ready Express control panels. A custom-designed control panel can be built on either our 15″ by 6.5″ or our 15″ by 17″ backplate. Enclosures may be mounted with either band clamps or u-bolts. An optional Pole Mount Kit 270430 with two brackets and hardware is sold separately.
