Please contact me to discuss how SunWize Power & Battery can fit into your business.

Since 2002 I’ve worked in solar energy and I’ve been responsible for sales, engineering, manufacturing, and installation of residential, commercial, utility, and industrial on and off-grid solar power systems. In 2014 the opportunity came about to purchase the off-grid business assets of SunWize Technologies, wherein SunWize Power and Battery was born.

I’ve engaged in a wide variety of solar projects over the years, a few notable projects, each with unique challenges and bits of fun, include the installation of a hybrid solar/propane generator power system and solar power pump in at Hoper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge a California Condor reserve in the rugged mountains of Southern California, a 1.8 MW ground mounted solar system on the island of American Samoa, a 9 MW utility solar power plant at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a 4 MW solar carport power plant at the Phoenix, AZ VA hospital, and several solar power systems at National Parks, including a carport and ground mount solar array at Zion.

I particularly enjoy this segment of the solar power industry because we engineer and manufacture power systems to provide power to machines and communications devices running industrial processes in remote outdoor locations and we engineer and manufacture backup power systems that provide power independence and autonomy to for homeowners; this brings it all together for me.

A Closer Look

I grew up in the town of Woodland in the agriculturally rich Central valley of California where I spent my time outdoors hunting, fishing, skiing, biking, motorcycling, four-wheeling, and working. I fell in love with machines and I learned repair and rebuild them.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Santa Clara University in the technologically vibrant Silicon Valley and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from university of California-Davis. During and after college I worked in the medical device, automotive, and aerospace engineering fields. I stumbled onto the field of solar electricity and felt it was the perfect fit for my career; blending my love for the environment and outdoors with my love for technology and machines. Machines need power and solar electricity is an endless and relatively clean source to power them.

I live and work in the bucolic state of Oregon, when we’re not working my family and I enjoys snow skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, working in our yard, soccer games, swimming, wrestling, and biking. My wife and I Crossfit to stay in shape and I drop-in at Crossfit boxes throughout the country when travelling for work.
