Notes about Residential Grid-Tie Systems
• Solar electric modules do not heat water. They convert sunlight into electricity that's used just like the electricity you receive from the utility. These systems are often confused with solar thermal panels that circulate water heated by the sun.
• A system does not need to cover your entire electrical load. A small system that displaces one quarter to half of your demand can still reduce your bill from the utility. A 5kW system may replace up to 50% of a home’s electrical needs and ranges in price from $40,000 to $50,000. However, with rebates or tax credits from the Federal and State government, this amount may be reduced by up to 60%.
• If a roof-mounted system is not practical, ground mounted systems are another option.

What is your budget for this project?
What is your timeline for this project?
Does your location have sun all day? Yes No
(In other words, the site can have NO shading from 9:00AM to 3:00PM due to trees, buildings or other structures. Shading any portion of a module will lower the power output.)
Does one side of your roof face south? Yes No
(A south facing roof is optimal but modules can be mounted on west or east facing roofs and still produce 90%+ power of south facing modules).
